I’ve been having bad episodes of writer’s block and I’m glad Noor tagged me in this post. I love writing and it helped me so much in every possible way. I don’t only write on this blog, I have another blog and I have a journal where I carry everywhere so this tag is really suited for me. Thanks Noor!
1. What am I working on?Β
I’m trying my best to show my personality through my blog. I want my post to be well written but at the same time, I want it to be fun and doesn’t sound too formal. Most of the time, I don’t plan what I write. I just go to my blog platform, put a photo and write anything that comes in my head like what I am doing right now. Sometimes I don’t even proofread it. So I guess that’s what I’m really trying to make use of: planning.
2. How does my work differ from others of its type/genre?Β
Every blog has its own identity to it because not all bloggers are the same. My blog doesn’t have a specific niche or theme. I just write what I want to write may it be about food, travel, fashion, beauty or anything about my life. What differs my work from everyone else’s is I guess sometimes I get too personal and I would just pour my heart out to what I’m feeling. Besides my blog, I write poems and proses as well which I sometimes post on my Tumblr so I think I’m more creative and in touch with my feelings in that sense.
3. Why do you write what you do?Β
I started blogging for one reason: self expression. I started when I was in college where I felt really lost in the real world. I couldn’t voice out my opinion to others cos I was shy or scared someone will judge me so I made a personal blog where I can just be myself. It helped me a lot and I’ve never stopped since. Sometimes readers would message me how I inspired them in some way and that keeps me going. There are things in my life that happened that I just want to share it in my blog hoping everyone could relate to it.
4. How does my writing process work?
I have that notebook on the photo where I write my blog post ideas, blurbs on my mind, poems, proses, my thoughts and some doodles. Sometimes it acts as a journal as well and after I write a draft in it, I polish it in another page or on my phone using the notepad so I can easily edit and delete some words. If it’s good enough, I can post it here or on my Tumblr but if it’s too personal, then it stays on my notebook. :p

Thank you for sharing the ideas behind your blog. I also blog because I want to express my self but now I blog because I want to share my thoughts on a certain product.
Yeah as long as it’s making us happy, then we should continue what we’re doing π
Loved this post. I can definitely relate to the why. I have always had a personal blog and have jumped platforms over and over, but the why is always the same. Sometimes it’s just easier to say what you truly feel to complete strangers!
Exactly! Honestly, I don’t show this blog to anyone I know IRL except to my cousins or good friends. It’s easier that way.
Thank you for the tag, Ali. <3 Can't wait to answer these qustions. I'm having fun reading yours π
You’re welcome joyce π xo
Really great post, enjoyed the reading.such an interesting one.
Definitely love this post! This gives people the idea that blogging is something that we think about, not just random blurbs when we feel like it. <3
Thanks Jhanzey! π and yes exactly! it actually takes effort
I have been and will always continue as a fan of you and your writings Ali. I like how you use words and convey your message π
Aww Thanks Hazel! That’s sweet of you! Thanks for reading my blog even if I don’t use Tumblr as my platform anymore.:)
Thanks for tagging me Alissa, this looks like it’ll be really fun and introspective to write! I really loved reading your answers, it was great to get insight into your process!
Thanks Natalia! π I would love to know how you do it
You write so well Alissa. I am so glad you chose blogging for self expression. It’s the best way.
Thanks for this tag Noor! π
I love this tag! So interesting to see how everyone works! π I love blogging for the same reason, and it’s a wonderful way to express yourself and just do what makes your heart happy!
It is! π Thanks Zoe!
This is a very interesting post, thank you for sharing it. P.S. I know the feeling about writing, my language is spanish and in my blog I try to write in spanish and english, and I’m not so good at writing english, but I’m learning.
The best way to learn it is to write it and to me, you’re english is actually good! π
Thank you! π
You write beautifully <3 captivating!
Really? Thanks!
Same thoughts with number 1! I want my blog too be formal, but with some sense of my personality. I don’t want to lose the personal touch.
No matter how many personal/lifestyle blog there are, I also believe that they will be different from one another. There are no two same persons (even twins) so there will never be two same blogs. Haha.
I can’t think of any writing process I have. Most of the time, my Notes app is what I rely on. Whenever I think of something, I type it down. But most of my drafts aren’t published. Haha I don’t want to have my own process or routine because it might look like a “work” which should not be. My blog is simply my outlet of thoughts so I blog whatever and whenever I want to. π
I know twin who blog and you’re right! They are two different bloggers with a unique blog.
I don’t even have drafts cos II just write righta way which I know is kind of bad sometimes but it works for me. π
Thank you for sharing this. Activities that give me things to reflect on always improve my writing
Love this! I have a blogging notebook where I jot ideas down and sketch in it, too. I think I’ll do this on my blog as well!

Please do! :)I’d love to read how you do it.
I also use process in the things i do, but i call it daily routine or daily method of operation- Noel
I can’t believe you don’t proof read always. I proof read and still get loads of mistakes, haha!

haha yeah I don’t. I get excited too much I guess
The best thing I liked about the post is you write what you like. All the best
It’s nice to know more about you, Alissa!
Hi! Found ya through Areeba. Glad I did! I love your blog! I’m a sucker for proofreading! I check and recheck!
Great post Alissa! If I were to do this post, I’m not sure if I could really write something. Haha. I have a lot of things and ideas on what to write and I feel so unorganized! I actually have posts in my drafts and when I decide to publish it, I have this habit of reading everything then I delete some parts and I another ones! So confusing and tedious! Hahaha.
We have the same thoughts on #2 as well! I don’t really want to settle in a specific niche because for me, it doesn’t have a variety. I can’t imagine posting about food or fashion or travel alone. Because I don’t go to posh cafes or restos regularly, I don’t dress up everyday because I am damn lazy most of the time, and I don’t even travel a lot. Haha! So yeah, I want to share almost everything under the sun which goes to your third item on the list. Self expresssion π
P.S. I’m so sorry for the loong comment. Haha
xoxo

I love this, having a ‘peek’ into your writing process. With times and more writing you will eventually find your ‘voice’ and style that works well for you π
