Sunnies Specs Review: Roosevelt

My vision is getting worse and my eyeglasses frame is not in its good condition anymore, so it’s time for me to get a new one. After seeing it at the mall and on the internet, I knew I have to get a pair of Sunnies Specs.

Sunnies is all over social media. I see them on Instagram and my favorite vloggers are raving about them on YouTube. At first, I thought they only have sunglasses but they also offer optical frames and calls the line Sunnies Specs. I really love the styles of their frames. I wanted to get one from them, so after knowing they have an Iloilo City branch, I went there the following day.

I was expecting a store, but they only have a small stall at the mall. I love how the stall is designed, they have drawers with glasses and customers can easily try one without asking for the staff to open a glass door. They have a wide range design of glasses from classic ones, to modern ones with different color choices. Most came in black, gold, rose gold and silver but there are also clear, pink, brown, and other colors. It comes with a case in coral or black and an eyeglass cleaner wipes.

The staffs are nice enough to give recommendations on which frame suits my face shape. After trying several frames, I chose to get the Roosevelt in gold. It’s not too big, and not too small for my face. For years, I’ve been wearing dark colored frames and this is a nice change.

I was surprised to know that there’s an optometrist inside who examines your eye. There’s one thing I’m not surprised about, though: My eye grade. It increased and I now have astigmatism. Nevertheless, I’m so relieved that I can see clearly now! I can’t wait to watch a movie at the cinema cos I’ve been enduring seeing blurry movies for a while.

For the cost, all frames including eye examination only cost 2000 PHP! I have an additional 1,700 PHP though. Since my eye grade is high, I have to get the thin lens because of the style of the frame. I still think it’s worth it. I’ve paid more money before for a lens and glasses. If you only opted for the frame, I think it costs only 1,700 PHP.

How durable is it? I think it depends on the style of the frame. Mine is thin so I have to be careful. The fit is perfect, though but they can also adjust it for you. I hope these glasses will last for a long time and cross finger that my eye grade will remain or will lessen.

What do you think of my glasses?

Got mine last month and it’s really worth the money. Loved the variety of styles they offer and yes, I loved their stalls and the uniform of their staff. Btw, your choice of frame suits you. 🙂

I got sunnies for my glasses too last November 2017! I think this is probably the trendiest glasses I’ve ever owned. I love their styles; there’s so much to choose from, although I hope that it lasts, as well!

I think this is the first frame I got that’s trendy! 🙂 I thought it was too big for me, but it’s just okay. What frame did you get?

I was opting to get my eyes checked and (maybe) get glasses at Sunnies when I went home last time but I never got to. Maybe I will next time! The frame really suits you, Alissa! <3

Got my first prescription glasses from Sunnies Specs, too! Mine’s in Zola (although I wish I opted for classy ones like yours! Haha!). After a few weeks, it had this little bubble-like dent on the inside. Good thing their branch in Trinoma replaced it with a new lens. I think the frame is pretty flimsy, but like what you said, it depends on the style. So I have to take extra care of my glasses din.

Got mine, too! I also added Screen Safe because I’m always on my phone and my computer (additional Php 1,000.00). It’s worth it, right? Having an eyeglasses without ruining your style. Love it!

Hi! How long did you wait to get the glasses? We’re planning to go on vacation in the Philippines but only have a maximum of two days to stay in Manila. 🙁

Hi! I got them pretty fast. Just hours after 😊 it depends though if they have a lens available for your eye grade. But pretty much it’s fast. If not, you can visit other eyewear store. There are lots in malls.

Hi! May I know what’s your eye grade? I’m planning to buy the gustav frame but sadly I have more than 4.00 on both eyes. I don’t know if it will still look good if that’s the case. Thank you in advanced 😊💕
