Cebu Trip Part 2: Sumilon Island

We were still in awe after swimming with the whales sharks as we found ourselves traveling to another island. Still with our damp clothes, we excitedly jumped inside the tricycle to go to a beach, wait for our pump boat ride until the waves will take us to Sumilon Island. If you want to read the first part of our adventure, click here.

While waiting for our boat, we stayed on this beach for a few minutes. I thought it was gonna rain but luckily, the sun showed up in all its glory creating sparkles of light in the ocean. This is summer.

It was a 15 minute boat ride to the island. My cousins and I occupied the boat for 1, 500 php. We tried inviting some tourists who stayed at the guest house so that we can save but I guess they have different plans. The boat ride was fun though. We can already see the island from afar and we’re glad the visitors there were not too many.

What really amazed me was the clear blue waters. No wonder the resort was called Bluewater. It’s living up to its name. There were many people swimming but once in a while, we see schools of fish swimming away. It was that clear!

One of the main attraction here was the sandbar. It was wide and long but overtime, the sea level gets high until the waters will cover it. We were having too much fun to keep that in mind. My cousin left her slippers there while we wereswimming and taking photos with the GoPro. She went to get her slippers but they were already gone. We saw one floating away. It was funny coz she wouldn’t give up looking for it.

Because of the above photo, she forgot about her slippers. She told us she has moved on but we knew she was sad and that a part of her soul was left somewhere in the ocean. *insert hugot line* Haha what? Anyway, we still had so much fun! We left the island on cloud nine as we hopped on the boat. With sand between our toes, crazy beach hair, and three swollen hearts. Three girls on an adventure, but one was walking barefoot. Haha.

Oh my God, the place looks amazing, Alissa! Such. Clear. Water. A part of me wants to see the beach but a part of me hates being under the sun and feeling hot and sweaty. LOL!

Haha that’s why I swim when I go to the beach. It’s really hot here especially that it’s summer. I wouldn’t mind it though if I’m in a beautiful place like this 🙂

It was indeed beautiful. The water was so clear and blue. But yea, shame only few corals were left near the sand bar. The P1,500 was really worth it with the buffet and the view. Haha. x

Buffet? I thought the 1,500 was only for the fare? Wow we didn’t know that.

The place looks pretty and the summer feels are everywhere Alissa. I suddenly wanted to go to the beach, sun bathes and just swim like a mermaid (if ever I really know how to swim). Nice shots too. <3

I envy you Ali!!! Last weekend, I went on a beach trip with my sister and cousin in Oslob and a staff there offered to take us to Sumilon. We were only 4 (but I’m paying for my sister hahaha) and the boatman offered 1500 roundtrip. It was a pretty decent offer but considering that I’m paying for my sister, we won’t be able to go home! HAHAHA. Hopefully I can visit the island soon.

I’m glad you had a blast during your stay in Cebu! Sayang, hopefully we can meet when you go back here. Hehe

1,500 each?? I thought it’s just 1,500 for 4-5 person, so you won’t have to pay for your sister separately. Aww, sayang naman. I will go back there and hopefully I can meet you and other Cebu bloggers 🙂

1500 for the whole boat. And 4 lang kami that time. I’ll pay for my sister and my cousin will pay for her bf. So magiging divided by 2 lang yung amount. And I couldn’t afford pa the 750 that time. Huhu
