We were still in awe after swimming with the whales sharks as we found ourselves traveling to another island. Still with our damp clothes, we excitedly jumped inside the tricycle to go to a beach, wait for our pump boat ride until the waves will take us to Sumilon Island. While waiting for our boat, we stayed on this beach for a few minutes. I thought it was gonna rain but luckily, the sun showed up in all its glory creating sparkles of light in the ocean. This is summer.
It was a 15 minute boat ride to the island. My cousins and I occupied the boat for 1, 500 php. We tried inviting some tourists who stayed at the guest house so that we can save but I guess they have different plans. The boat ride was fun though. We can already see the island from afar and we’re glad the visitors there were not too many.
What really amazed me was the clear blue waters. No wonder the resort was called Bluewater. It’s living up to its name. There were many people swimming but once in a while, we see schools of fish swimming away. It was that clear!
One of the main attraction here was the sandbar. It was wide and long but overtime, the sea level gets high until the waters will cover it. We were having too much fun to keep that in mind. My cousin left her slippers there while we wereswimming and taking photos with the GoPro. She went to get her slippers but they were already gone. We saw one floating away. It was funny coz she wouldn’t give up looking for it.
Because of the above photo, she forgot about her slippers. She told us she has moved on but we knew she was sad and that a part of her soul was left somewhere in the ocean. *insert hugot line* Haha what? Anyway, we still had so much fun! We left the island on cloud nine as we hopped on the boat. With sand between our toes, crazy beach hair, and three swollen hearts. Three girls on an adventure, but one was walking barefoot. Haha.
