Road Trip To Boracay Island

My cousins asked me to go with them on a road trip to Boracay and I immediately said yes! I mean, who doesn’t want to travel, right? I haven’t gone to Boracay for so long. I think the last time I went there was when I was in 5th grade where Boracay looks so much different back then. I didn’t even get to roam around there that time and from a forgetful girl, most of the memories have already faded.

I packed my bags a day before leaving and it was the first time I traveled light! Well, I always pack light but this time, it was lighter and the clothes I bought were just enough for two days. Anyway, My mom came along with us and my aunt and uncle so the car was full packed with giggles and silent snores.

We slept early at my cousins’ place cos we’re leaving early the next morning. 4 am. My alarm went off and as much as I wanted to sleep some more, I was excited about the trip. My 3 cousins, I haven’t seen them for a year and one I haven’t seen for two years. We, along with other cousins (Yes, I have so many cousins) used to travel a lot before and we really missed doing this again so you can just imagine how we looked forward to this vacation.

It was still dark when we left. I was sleepy but I haven’t slept the whole ride. I was that ecstatic and I love looking at the view from the window. We chatted, listened to music, and took photos. Even the grown ups were game for selfies. It was fun.

It took forever to arrive at the port going to Boracay Island. I’m glad we even made it there cos there was a hiccup on the road. Our car decided to give up on us as soon as my cousin who drove the car was about to find a parking space. Luckily, there’s a mechanic available. We, however, didn’t wait for the car to get fixed. My 3 cousins, aunt, and uncle went ahead, hopped on a pumped boat going to Boracay while the rest stayed to watch for the car. Good thing it was fixed rather fast and they followed us.

My squad. My cousins.

The hotel that we were supposed to stay was fully booked. That’s because my cousin was confident that we don’t need to book in advance online. Now what? Turns out it was a blessing in disguise as we found a much cheaper accommodation. Yayy! It was only 1000 pesos for a night and it doesn’t matter how many people are in the room. It’s not air conditioned and it was like a mini cottage but the air is cool and it gives a beach vibe kind of feeling. It’s Forest Hills Resort in Station 1 if you’re wondering.

My little cousin in his natural habitat. He really loves the sea.

We roamed around the beach to look for something to eat for lunch. The beach was so beautiful. The water was so blue and the sand was so white. Anyway, we ate lunch at the Mexican restaurant who also serves Filipino food lol. I was so full, we ordered Filipino food except for the nachos which are so good btw. I didn’t get to take photos there but there’s a clip on it on my vlog, which you should check out soon. I haven’t finished editing it yet.

My feet were already hurting from roaming around. Stumbled into marketplace where it has stores of clothes, accessories, souvenirs and I got  myself a beach hat which I really love. I got tired and luckily I found this bench. My cousin took this photo of me while she was looking at some cover-ups in one of the stores. I wish I smiled at this photo but I wasn’t ready so this is still a decent shot.

All of us rode the Banana Boat Ride and it was crazy! It gets to the point where the speed boat which pulls this inflatable banana boat goes fast! Plus there were waves. I don’t know how my 7-year-old cousin managed to keep her butt where it was supposed to be when my cousin and I lose our grip, stumbled twice and almost fell out of the water! haha! Omg, it was so fun!

Boracay Sunset

We swam after the banana boat ride, took a rest at the place we were staying and head out again for dinner. The fire dance was so entertaining and the performers were really good at it. Found two local celebrities and they were nice enough to take a selfie with my cousins. I didn’t cos they were in a hurry and I respect that.

We strolled again and there were lots of people. The nightlife of Boracay is great even though I didn’t really get to stay there since we were already tired. We have to get up early for tomorrow’s activities which will I blog soon! Stay tuned.

Haha just casually hopping a boat when the car breaks down 😀 // Love your sunnies! // omg I loooove banana boats! On one hand I like to prove my dominance by staying on the boat for as long as I can, but on the other hand, it’s so much more fun to fall off the boat! -Audrey

Looks like you and your family are having so much fun! You absolutely need to book in advance for hotels – though I’m happy you guys found a much more inexpensive place to stay! The beach is absolutely stunning, the last time I went to one it was cold and rainy :p

We sure did have fun! 🙂 Yeah, it’s not really wise to spend a lot of money when most of the time you’re outside exploring anyway. Which beach did you go to?

At first, I was like… roadtrip??? to Boracay? But then I realized that you’re actually living close enough to Boracay to be able to do that. Lucky you! Haha. It’s been more than 5 years since I last visited the place (even if it’s my father’s hometown). I hope to be back very very soon! You’re post definitely made me miss Boracay a lot. <3

Road trip to Boracay! Wow. You live so close. I can see from the pictures that Boracay really has fine sands. I want to go there already!!! 🙁

When my friends and I tried riding a banana boat, we asked kuya na sana wag kami mahulog. Eventually, my friend, who was seated at the back, fell. And we only realized it when we were far na. Nobody was expecting na may mahuhulog kaya nobody noticed din. Hahaha. Sobrang funny nun!
