Reverse Q & A

I don’t know about you but I always wonder who my readers are and those are you guys! Instead of the usual blog posts where readers asks a question to a blogger, I’m doing the opposite thing because why not? I want to know more about you. This was originally done by The Private Life Of A Girl which I think is a great blog but I modified it a bit. I would love to read all your answers and maybe if you find someone interesting who has a blog like you do, you can follow them. This is a great idea to connect with my readers and great way to find a new blog to read too! Leave your answers on the comment box. 🙂

Tell me who you are:

– what is your name?
– how old are you?
– where do you live?
– what is your job?

What are your goals for this year?

Tell me what you dream about:
– what do you want to learn?
– what do you hope to achieve?
– where do you want to go in life?

What are your hobbies? What are you into?

What is one book everyone should read?

Tell me what you think of this blog:
– how long have you been reading?
– what do you like & dislike?
– what do you want more or less of?
– is there anything you want to ask?

p.s. I’ll post my answers in the comments too so if you want to hear my answers, feel free to check from time to time.

Hi, My name is Valerie. I’m 26 years old. I live in San Antonio, TX and work at a TV station as a broadcast operator and editor. My goals for the year are to learn how to budget so that I can pay off my student loans, grow my blog, make more things at home, and cook/bake more. I’ve been to so many colleges and taken so many classes! But throughout those times I wanted to study: English, Film, and now I’m onto Psychology. When I first started “really” working I wanted to get into a production house and edit. The field is a tough one and I’m proud that I have a steady-full time job…but as to where I want to go in life – it’s not it. Hence, the switching over to psychology. I want to help at-risk youth and foster kids and I feel that my time would be more rewarding. I love to read, watch TV & Movies, blog, cook, and bake. I think everyone should read Harry Potter and The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien. I just started following this blog from The Blogging Elite but what I’ve click around on is really neat! I especially love the name. I can’t wait to read more and get to know you better.

Love, love, love this idea! Here are my answers:

    Tell me who you are:
I’m Janelle but most of my friends call me Jhanz. I’m 22, from Malabon. I am currently a Brand Manager for a start up company, and I also have a small online business called The Dream Shirt. 🙂

What are your goals for this year?
My goals for this year would definitely be to travel abroad, go around the Philippines, save a little, and achieve more with my small business, hopefully go around bazaars in the metro.

    What I dream about:
I dream about going full time on my small business, and then maybe have other ventures too like a quaint cafe. I dream about traveling around the world. 🙂

What are your hobbies? What are you into?
I love reading books, watching movies, and taking photographs.

What is one book everyone should read?
This is pretty hard because I love a lot of books… But if I really have to choose one, I’d probably say Mitch Albom’s For One More Day. I guess we all need to realize how valuable time is, and how much we have to show our gratitude to our parents. It’s a really good book and it made me cry a bucket of tears. Made me wanna hug my mom after reading it. Hehe.

Tell me what you think of this blog:
I’m not quite sure, but I think I’ve been reading your blog for 6 months or so now. I really like how you post things that are easily relatable. I also love your aesthetics (wonderful pics, I must say!). I honestly don’t think I dislike anything about your blog. Hehe. It’s been always a delight to drop by!

I haven’t read One More Day but after seeing your answer, I think I found the next book to read. I’m into tearjerkers right now. Oh, and thank you for those nice words about my blog! Love yours too!

    Tell me who you are:

My name is Kaitlyn! I’m 25 years young and I reside in brick-cold Connecticut. I’m currently in a career transition but for the past 5+ years I’ve worked in advertising as a media planner/buyer. I’m the middle man between the client and the commercials that appear in-between shows and on the radio!

My goals for the year? Hmmm, well for one I want to grow my blog exponentially. I’ve always wanted to do one, but was either to afraid/ashamed or just didn’t feel like I had the time. Now I’ve going at it full speed ahead! I also would love to find that job that I’m 100% happy with and can see myself doing till the end of my time.

I dream about starting my own business. I want to open a safe house for teenage girls. And on a whole other spectrum, I also want to open a small clothing boutique. Just need to find the guts to do it!

Some of my hobbies include dancing, blogging (of course!!), reading and listening to music. I’ve been dancing since I was 3 years old and it still has my heart.

One book everyone should read?? hmmmm, its a close call between The Help and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Those are probably two of my favorite books of all time.

Tell me what you think of this blog:
I’ve actually been reading your blog for a few days now. I’m a newbie *waves* I like how relatable you are and i love the minimalistic, simple feel your blog gives off. its refreshing.

    January 10, 2015 at 7:13 am

First of all, I love the new layout!

    Tell me who you are:
I’m Shayne and I’ll be 25 this year. I live in Anchorage, Alaska which doesn’t exactly fit the stereotype people have of Alaska. I’ll prove it to you! I work for a governmental agency and I would rather not disclose my role for privacy issues and policies. I hope you understand. 🙂

What are your goals for this year?
This year I am working towards living a minimal lifestyle. I hope you stick around through this crazy ride I’m sure it’s going to become! It’s only the beginning and I’ve got so much to share already. We’re only 9 days into the new year on my side of the world, and it feels like it’s already been a month!

Tell me what you dream about:
The older I get, the more and more I want to discover the people I come from and the places and times they lived in. Since my maternal grandmother passed away, I’ve had this yearning to go back to the Philippines and retrace her footsteps. I want to someday chronicle her life as a designer and seamstress to politicians and diplomats. There are stories that I know want to be found. I hope that someday I can create something that’ll live on long after I’m gone. Ahhh! I didn’t want this to turn so dark, sorry. I’ve just always had an aspiration to create something eternal or something that gets handed down.

What are your hobbies? What are you into?
I danced when I was younger and really loved, and still love, music. I like poetry, learning new languages, hip hop culture, backing startups/crowd funding for artists and other creators, journalism, writing and creative, artsy-fartsy stuff in general. I also inherited a love of fashion from my grandmother. Oh, and I have an affinity for Korean pop culture. I blame this on my Aunt who lives in Korea and my cousin who exposed me to K-Pop and Korean dramas when I was thirteen. It’s kind of a problem.

What is one book everyone should read?
The Catcher In The Rye, cliche answer but.. hello, classic! And this is one of my favorite quotes from it:

“The mark of an immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one.”

Also, Looking For Alaska is a great read as well and I’m reminded of it whenever I see your blog’s name! 🙂

Tell me what you think of this blog:
I don’t know how long I’ve been reading your blog, but I would say that I started reading towards the end of 2014 after seeing you on Jae’s blog. She’d nominated you for “A Tour Through Blogland.”

What I like about your blog is that it makes me nostalgic. You’re just about a year younger than me, but I feel like we’re on such different trajectories in our lives that it is so interesting to read about what you’re doing and what you like. I just like seeing someone gaining their independence, a sort of coming of age. I grew up in a place where it seemed like so many were in a rush to get to their twenties and be “grown-ups.” It’s nice to see someone just being young and it makes me realize that I’m still somewhat at the same point .

You have the right balance of personal stories, too. There isn’t really anything I dislike about your blog. I do know that you listed goals for yourself in your 2014 year ender, perhaps a progress report down the road would be another good read? No pressure 😉 Anyway, forget what I think you should write more about — what do you want to share more of on your blog?

You can always do what you dream about. Like the idea of retracing your grandma’s life. You’ll never know you’ll learn so many interesting things about her that you’ve never known before. Seems like we have something in common when it comes to hobbies. I like reading, writing poetry and music too. I haven’t read Catcher in The Rye Yet but I always hear that it’s good. I love Looking For Alaska and funny how that book reminded you of this blog because my twitter name is looking4alissa and I based it on that book. haha. Thanks for the compliments on my blog. I really appreciate it. 🙂 I want to write more about travel and beauty. Honestly, I don’t know. I don’t really plan my blog posts to be honest. Maybe I should work on that. Thanks for taking time to answer this!

I’m May, I was a professional musician before my husband and I decided to pack it up and home school our children. I have decided to pursue a career based on what I’ve been educated with and is now a full time content marketer/writer/editor.

I’m basically into family, so I like doing crafts and activities with my kids. My dream is to raise them into God-fearing leaders in whatever field they choose.

I don’t remember when I first run into your site, but I do remember that bit about you wishing your dad could join you at your vacation over the beginning of the holidays. I thought that was a very sincere, honestly written piece.

I’m Paulline Joy Flores (Pau) and I just turned 30. We’ll be moving to Quezon City soon which is miles away from my full-time job in Makati.

What are your goals for this year?
I plan to get myself well equipped to transition from a corporate vampire to a work-at-home-awesome-mom. That means attending workshops and making sure I save up. I think that may be the hardest.

Tell me what you dream about:
I am still working on that dream for myself. Maybe go back to college and finish my degree. There’s still tons to learn and it just never stops. I dream about being able to give my daughter the best opportunities in life and be able to not make decisions for her but guide her on support her on anything she wants to be

What are your hobbies? What are you into?
My world revolves around my daughter and because of her, I’m now addicted to anything girly.

What is one book everyone should read?
Everyone should read a bible at least once in their lifetime. No matter your religion, whether you believe in God or not, you must know what’s in a bible to know where you stand in your faith.

Everyone too should read The Little Prince

Tell me what you think of this blog:
I think This is the first time I read this blog and I’m loving it instantly. I love the clean and simple design. I love how engaging you are. Most specially, I love your profile – I’d rather wear flowers on my hair than diamonds around my neck too.

Hi, Alissa! I’m Franchesca and I’m eighteen year old architecture student from Manila.

I’m currently in the process of finishing 100 movies, and 5 books for the year 2015. I also have a target of visiting 50 new places for this year. I’m trying to change and be more positive (but realistic), be more expressive when it comes to art… Basically, be a better version of myself than the past years.

I want to learn how love myself more (wow). I hope to be able to be more focused and disciplined when it comes to my studies. I want to go out of my comfort zone and see where it takes me.

I like sketching and photography. I blog from time to time, too!

As cliche as it sounds, everyone should read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho! Your perspective in tings will definitely change.

I just stumbled upon your blog from a Facebook group and this post made me want to read more about your adventures! Thanks for sharing. It’s fun answering things like this. 🙂

I’m moving (back) to work in ICU soon and hopefully, it should push through and to travel Southeast Asia before moving departments. As for long term goals, I want to travel the world (I’ve only visited other states so far) and go back to school to become a Nurse Anesthetist/Nurse Practitioner.

I love just going and dining out, exploring Los Angeles since I just moved here for good 4 years ago.

As for books, any Paulo Coelho books. Very inspiring stories!

I found out about your blog only last year (clicking various links until I landed into yours, haha!) and got quite interested because you’re a nurse too and my boyfriend’s family is from Iloilo too (although he was born and raised here). Keep posting! God bless!

    Tell me who you are:
Hi, Rebecca here and I just turned 29 last few weeks ago! I’m from Malaysia and currently doing a compliance job. However, I’m currently doing some job hunting and thinking to do some freelance or part-time job instead of full time.

What are your goals for this year?
My goals would definitely be opening my own shop. Hopefully I’ll be able to achieve this by end of this year!

Tell me what you dream about:
There are so many things in life that I want to learn and achieve. First of all, I hope to master one more musical instrument (currently only can play piano, violin and a bit of guitar). Secondly, I need to learn more culinary skills (so I can achieve my goal!). Finally, I really do hope that I’ll be able to travel half of this globe during this life time.

What are your hobbies? What are you into?
Apart from reading my ultimate passion would have to be music and performing. I’ll grab almost any chance I have to stand on a stage again, LOL!! Recently, I found another hobby too – cooking. I guess I’m really into stuff that allows me to be creative and think outside of the box.

What is one book everyone should read?
I don’t really have an answer for this, but I think “Five Person You Meet in Heaven” is a book that I’ve found to be very meaningful.

Tell me what you think of this blog:
I’ve only stumbled upon your blog recently, but I think you have an interesting blog.

What a brilliant idea for a blog post! Mind if I ‘borrow’ it sometime? I love the idea of getting to know my blog friends better with a reverse Q&A.

    So here we go then…
I live in Atlanta, GA. I don’t have a ‘job’ in the traditional sense. Instead I focus on what I love in life. I raise my son, travel, explore, try new things, photograph those things, and I blog!

My goals for this year include checking somewhere new off of my bucket list, eating more fruit and veg and taking better care of my skin. Oh, and meditate more!

I dream about travel. All. The. Time. :o) I meditate regularly on how I want my life to be. So far, it’s pretty amazing. I feel incredibly grateful.

My hobbies as previously mentioned…photography, blogging, travel, tea and chocolate.

One book everyone should read? The Alchemist. At least 3 times. I learn something new every time I read it.

This is my first time ever visiting your blog. I can’t remember how I came across it, but I’m glad I did. At first glance, I love the fresh, clean, easy to read design. From what little I’ve read so far, it seems like you have a very positive attitude which is something I’m drawn to in other blogs. :o)
