October Favorites

Back when I was blogging on Tumblr, this used to be my monthly series but surprise, surprise! I didn’t do it regularly and totally forgot about it. After stumbling upon Raisa’s blog though, it reminded me of this again and it’s cool to join their monthly link up. For this month of October, here are my favorites.

BEAUTY AND FASHION

I’ve been loving my Tangle Teezer! I’ve heard it’s a great brush and it has been used by celebrities like Emma Watson and Cara Delevigne. After watching tons of review blog posts and videos, I decided to get one cuz my hair tends to have lots of tangles especially when I wake up and brushing or combing would be a pain in the butt. This brush however though doesn’t hurt one bit and it doesn’t pull your hair! It’s gentle and it detangles so effortlessly and it just glides through your hair. It’s worth every cent, definitely a must have.

I also love the Glamour Box I received! I might do a review on it soon.

APPS

I am obsessed with Cooking Fever and Cooking Dash. It’s ironic how I’m not much of a cook in real life and I enjoy cooking games. haha. It really is fun though and I could play it all day. I also love the app Shadowmatic where you are presented with a weirdly shaped object and you will have to turn it around while watching its shadow change until you figure out what object it is.

MOVIES AND TV SHOWS

In the local scene, I really enjoyed watching Heneral Luna. The story is moving and a real eye opener. I also love Paper Towns, Me, Earl and the Dying Girl and Pan.

As for TV shows, I’m trying to catch up on American Horror Story: Hotel and On the Wings Of Love. I don’t watch TV so I’m so behind. When my co workers gush about the latter, I couldn’t relate.

BOOKS

Despite my schedule and tons of books on my to read list, I have finished I Was Here by Gayle Forman. It’s about a friend searching for reasons why her best friend committed suicide. It was an okay book, not really too emotional or had a great impact on me but still is a good read. My recent most favorite however is All the Bright Places by Jenifer Niven. It has moved me to tears to quietly sobbing inside a classroom. The characters are so relatable and the guy reminds me of someone. They’re so remarkably alike.

SONGS

I just heard Adele’s Hello and I really like it. So much feels for that song. I also love Never Forget You by Zara Larsson, I Hate U I Love U by Gnash, and Here by Alessia Cara, which is so relatable. I’m liking all Alessia Cara songs at the moment.

Paper towns is one of the best movies this year. The plot is so simple, but the ending was a surprise. I have to watch Pan, but no time at all 🙁 American Horror Story was one of my favorites too. I have to start watching it again. You should do this every month 😀

Paper Towns is dragging but the ending surprised me too, it’s realistic. Pan was full of adventure and magic, I love it.

All The Bright Places is on my next read! I’m currently reading Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard though, and it’s soooo good! I highly recommend it 🙂 I’ve read Gayle Forman’s books, but not I Was Here. Definitely the book by her that made me cry was Where She Went! Ugh it was heartbreaking </3

I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about All The Bright Places. I’m seriously considering reading after I finish reading Miss Peregrine. I also love Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl and Paper Towns. It’s a great year for YA movies. 🙂

I think I badly need that Tangle Teezer. I always wake up with tangled hair every single day. It’s because my hair is already frizzy and dry with all the bleaching session I have done for the past year. Where did you buy yours?

Paper Towns is kind of boring but the ending isn’t the one I expected, I think it’s more realistic. Me, Earl and the Dying Girl however is awesome

Ooh! I really liked I Was Here, but the unfolding of mystery wasn’t as good as the whole starting plot was. Though it made me quite sad as the best friend’s tale reminded me of someone I know 🙁
Oh and please do the GlamourBox review!

Yeah, it kinda is but if your hair isn’t really that knotty, and it doesn’t hurt to brush it, I think regular comb or brush would do. But Tangle Teezer really is amazing.
