November 9 by Colleen Hoover Review

I have been waiting for this book for a looong time! I guess it’s not just me though. I think this is one of the most anticipated books for this month. The moment I knew that there were already reviews on Goodreads, it got me more excited. I kind of wished I’m a book blogger so that I can have an advance copy but I’m just glad to see that people likes it.

I almost pre ordered this book at the NBS website but I just couldn’t wait that I have to get the ebook version and I did on the day of its release! Before reading it, I celebrated first by posting and tweeting how I’m so excited to read this book, been hugging my phone, did a little dance, marvel at it for minutes, and finding a perfect spot to read it since I know I wouldn’t put it down. I’m just weird like that. You’ll probably do the same if you’ve waited for something for a long time and you’l finally be able to get it. 😀

Being a CoHo fan since Day 1, I have high hopes for this book. In fact, it has surpassed my expectations way more than I could ever imagine. I think this is my new favorite book of her. I’m not sure, but I know they’re pretty close with Ugly Love and Hopeless. I guess I have to read them again to know.

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day of her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

-Goodreads

The concept is what made this book intriguing. Making a promise to someone you’ve only known for hours to meet every November 9 every year with no communication in between is kind of unrealistic for me. Colleen Hoover made it work though. This book had me laughing, it made me feel warm and fuzzy and it sure made me cry maybe 5 times. This book is a roller coaster. The moment you think it’s gonna end good, another conflict will happen. The plot twists are insane! I really didn’t see it coming and it sure is jaw dropping. I love everything about this book! From how it made me feel different kinds of emotions, to its writing style, the plot, the characters, the lines, the ending.

If you like Colleen Hoover books and NA/YA romance, you’ll surely love this one.

I haven’t tried reading Colleen Hoover, but everyone seems to enjoy all her books. I think it’s time to get one. Hopeless is quite popular too. That or November, what do you suggest?

Maybe you have to read November 9 first because Hopeless is more dark and kind of serious so I suggest you read a lighter one first. Or maybe the other way round? It depends on you 🙂 Once you read a Colleen Hoover book, I’m sure you’re gonna read the rest of her books. She’s just an awesome writer.

As an aspiring writer, I get really frustrated when I read Colleen’s books. Why does she write with so much perfection? D: I haven’t ordered November 9 yet, but I definitely agree that the plot seems very interesting already just by reading the synopsis! I can’t wait to have it. I’m still on the look out for this book on NBS’ shelves, but still none. 🙁

I was looking out for the physical copy too! You can order it online though but it’s pricier I bet. I hope to have all Colleen Hoover paperbacks. They’re just too good! I honestly can’t pick a favorite.

It does sound incredible, how it was able to put you through a rollercoaster of emotions like that. I love it when anything – books, films, photographs etc., can make you feel a variety of emotions and really take you on a journey. Agree with you on the unrealistic part though, but if the author can make it work – why not! Thanks for the rec, will need to check this out stat 🙂
