What I Love About Traveling

Last August was the first time I’ve traveled internationally. We went to 3 countries for almost a month and I miss the feeling of going to a new place that I decided to make a list of the things I love about traveling.

THE EXCITEMENT// I’ve always loved the idea of going to new places since forever and when I finally had the chance to go to another country, I was in cloud nine even just by thinking about it. The day I was finally at the airport, I couldn’t even explain how excited I am.

SPENDING TIME WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE// Traveling alone sounds like an adventure but for me, it’s ten times funner (cos funner is a word) when I’m with the people I love. I’ve traveled with my cousins and mom abroad and it was awesome.

THE PLACE// When you finally land in a new place or country, the feeling is so surreal especially if you’ve wanted to go to that place for a long time where you only admire it in photos and movies before. You get that feeling of, “Wow! I can’t believe I’m actually here right now!”.

THE EXPERIENCE// I feel like this is the real essence of traveling. You get to experience a lot of new things that you’ve never done before. You get to taste the country’s signature dishes, get to know the locals, get lost in a city, shop until you drop, make new friends from different countries, the list never ends.

FINDING BEAUTY// You learn how to appreciate everything you see along the way. Even if it’s just a simple building, you feel like it’s the most magnificent thing you’ve ever seen. Or when you see a beggar on the street, it makes you feel how lucky you really are, and when you go back to your own country, you get to see it in a different but in a good way. It feels great coming home.

Do you love traveling too?

I couldn’t agree more with your list. The experience is the main thing for me. Small things, which seems worthless, become super catchy when we see them in a new location. Travelling reveals the beauty around us <3

Not to mention, but also freedom! Especially in terms of talking. Haha 😉 To the point they’d stare oddly at you because they don’t know what you’re talking about at all.

Because at a very young age, I’ve been travelling back and forth Philippines, I’ve been somehow accustomed to turbulence and jetlags. And because of that, I’m like a person who can’t stand a year without riding a plane. I have to fly – domestically or internationally. Same as you’ve mentioned above, it excites me to discover a lot about a place which I would share with my family & friends.

I’m usually a solo traveler and for me it’s not as fun as it is with friends or family but it’s also fun because that’s the time you get to meet new people who would later on become your friends. 🙂
